Angela Horneber
Residential Life Advisor
Angela began her work with the WLHS International Program in 2019. She grew up in upstate New York before attending Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. There she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education, emphasis in secondary communication arts and literature. After graduation, Angela moved overseas to China. She worked for four years teaching English in a bilingual primary school in Shanghai. After completing a certificate program in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), she worked in the English department at Shanghai Normal University from 2018 to 2019. While living and working in China, Angela also completed a four-week Mandarin immersion program at the Chinese Language Institute in Guilin, Guangxi, China.

Angela has experience working with students of many ages and backgrounds and is also personally familiar with the process of adapting to and living alongside new cultures. She brings these skills and knowledge to her role at WLHS where she works to meet the needs of the students in their residential life.

I strive to develop relationships with all the students that will allow me to anticipate and meet their needs while living away from home—academically, emotionally, physically, and socially. My priority is to care for our students, help them navigate the new cultural environment, and gain as much as possible from the wealth of experiences that WLHS and the wider community has to offer.”
