Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarship applications are open from December 1-31.

The following scholarships will be available each school year, thanks to the generosity of WLHS families and friends. Each scholarship requiring an application will be awarded based on the specific criteria listed.

All scholarship applications will be done online. A link for scholarship applications will be open on December 1. The completed form, written submissions, and supporting financial documentation, if applicable, must be electronically submitted by December 31. Applicants will be notified of awarded scholarships by early March.

Our thanks and gratitude to families and friends of Wisconsin Lutheran High School who sponsor scholarships for our students. These specific scholarships are granted to qualified students as determined by the WLHS Tuition Assistance Committee.

Dr. Walter H. Drost Honors Scholarship (1/2 Conference Tuition Rate)

Incoming Freshman, a current eighth grade student at a Lutheran elementary school and a WELS member of the WLHS Conference congregation, essay.
Robert Andreas Memorial Scholarship (1/2 Conference Tuition Rate)

Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, financial need, from a single-parent family, essay.
Dr. Mike and Kristen Black Advanced Sciences Scholarship ($1,000)

Junior or Senior, combined 3.5 GPA in Math and Science courses, desire to pursue a career path in the areas of science, engineering or medicine, letter of recommendation from current science or math instructor, essay.
George Bauman Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, financial need, desire to use God-given gifts and talents to serve others, essay.
Steve and Heidi Bohlmann Family Scholarship ($6,000)

Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, financial need.
Business Education Scholarship ($1000)

The intention of this scholarship is to encourage our students to pursue careers as Christian leaders in the business world. For a junior or senior who has taken a minimum of two business courses.
Christ-St. Peter Scholarship (Full Tuition)

For any student from Christ-St. Peter Lutheran School, need based.
Gifted To Serve Scholarship ($1,000)

Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, financial need, WLHS choir member, desire to use God-given gifts to serve others, essay.
Jim and Loie Guenther Scholarship ($1,000)

Junior or Senior, involved in various co-curricular activities--especially those involving a leadership role. Requires two written recommendations from a member of the WLHS faculty.
Wilmer and Ida Guenther Scholarship ($1,000)

Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, financial need, honor roll, desire to strengthen your Christian faith and grow in your ability to be a servant leader, co-curricular activities, mission statement.
Heritage Endowment Fund Scholarship ($1,000)

Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, financial need, strong desire to grow as a Christian leader.
Jeske Family Scholarship ($3,500)

Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, financial need, plan to study for the full-time teaching or preaching ministry.
Leitch Creation Studies Scholarship ($1,000)

scholarship for teacher or student with interest in the science field, co-curricular involvement and financial need
Ken Leverence Scholarship ($3,000)

Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, minimum 3.0, submit essay on value of Christian education and include two names of teachers for references
Meyer Family Scholarship ($3,000)

Sophomore, junior, or senior; interested in math and/or science; minimum 3.5 GPA
Daniel Nitschke Scholarship ($1,000)

Freshman from Trinity Ev. Lutheran School in Waukesha or Christ the Lord Ev. Lutheran School in Brookfield and demonstrate a desire to strengthen their faith and grow in their ability to live a life of Christian service.
Rudolph and Pauline Pede Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, financial need, involved in a school-sponsored co-curricular activity, extra curricular faith-based organization and/or activity, intend to continue education after high school, essay.
Richard G. Raabe, Sr. & Lorraine Raabe Scholarship ($1,500)

Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, financial need, desire to strengthen Christian faith and grow in ability to be a servant leader, mission statement.
Reinemann Family Scholarship ($1,000)

Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, financial need, positive Christian attitude, 3.0 GPA, essay.
Ruehle Family Church Leadership Scholarship ($500)

Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, financial need, involved as a youth leader in a WELS congregation, summary of involvment.
Ruehle Family “Freshman” Church Leadership Scholarship ($500)

Freshman, financial need, involved as a youth leader in a WELS congregation, essay.
Walter and Bette Sebald Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

Sophomore, junior, or senior; interest in co-curriculars, desire to serve others; financial need
Schmeling Family Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

Junior or Senior, financial need, WLHS conference congregation member, college-bound, 3.35 GPA, positive Christian attitude, essay.
Sharon A. Schoeneck In the Image Scholarship ($3,000)

Female senior to promote Christian empowerment of female students and leadership through volunteerism, based on financial need.
Quint Music Scholarship ($4,000)

Sophomore, Junior or Senior, financial need, play a musical instrument in the WLHS band and/or orchestra.
Walz Family Scholarship ($1,000)

For Freshman, Sophomore, Juniors and Seniors, need based, intending to continue in WELS teacher/pastor track education.
WLHS Engineering & Computer Science Excellence Scholarship ($1,000)

GPA of 3.0 or higher, show interest or commitment to computer science, information technology, or any type of Engineering, participate in co-curricular
WLHS Viking Leadership Scholarship ($2,500)

Sophomore, junior, or senior who exhibits Christian leadership qualities. Requires references from two WLHS teachers.

How to Apply for Scholarships

Click here to log onto your onCampus account. Begin your scholarship application by clicking the link in the yellow bar at the top of your onCampus page that says 1 Form(s) to Review. This link will lead you to the scholarship application. Your application will remain saved in your account until you hit the submit button. All written submissions can be submitted in one E-mail to scholarship.applications@wlhs.org.

After your application has been submitted, you can access your completed application by clicking on the drop down menu next to your name on the blue bar in your onCampus account. Click on Files and Forms. Next to WLHS Scholarship Application click on the blue button that says print. There you will be able to print your application. The links for the scholarship descriptions will be live by clicking on the scholarship name. Please carefully follow any directions regarding specific writing criteria (essays, letters of recommendation, etc) that need to be met.
