Eric Duwe
Director of International Program

Eric was born and raised in Wisconsin, growing up on the family farm less than one hour west of WLHS. As an undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Eric majored in Latin American Studies and Political Science. During these years, he had his first study abroad experiences in Costa Rica and also completed a certificate program in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). After graduation, Eric lived in Thailand for two years where he oversaw a men’s dormitory, taught English classes, and led Thai student camp experiences in partnership with a local church. He also lived in Thailand for an additional three years where he enrolled in Payap University to complete his Master’s Degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), teach university courses, serve as an international residential assistant in the dormitory, and coordinate international programming for the university. Upon returning to Wisconsin, Eric worked in the ESL Program of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for three and a half years where he taught and served as Academic Coordinator before beginning his position at WLHS in 2017.

In his role at WLHS, Eric works closely with the international students to make sure they have a smooth transition to WLHS. He works closely with agencies and families around the world to ensure students are having an optimal experience, making international trips each year to meet with agencies and students’ families.

Message from Eric
Thank you for taking interest in Wisconsin Lutheran High School. Milwaukee is a phenomenal place to live and study. Students are well cared for at WLHS, which is located in a very safe environment with great conveniences like nearby coffee shops and a grocery store. Our school has a strong record of academic and athletic success for American and international students. The list of universities our WLHS graduates attend is impressive, and I am proud to be part of a school that prepares our students as well-rounded individuals ready to achieve their university and career goals. It is my goal to find excellent students from around the world to be part of our WLHS community. We all benefit through international education!
