Viking Christian Leaders: Wisdom

Congratulations to Kylah Alexander (‘25) and Za'veir Weems (‘26) who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of January under “The Wisco Way Word": Wisdom. We thank God for the way Kylah and Za'veir have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leaders Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Kylah is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attends Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church, and she went to grade school at New Testament Christian Academy, both in Milwaukee.

Kylah was nominated for the Viking Christian Leader award for her gift of wisdom in applying God's Word to every aspect of life and her good advice to friends.

Currently a senior at Wisco, Kylah has participated in NHS, VCLA, Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, FBLA, Pilot, Culture Club, the Black History Month and Hispanic Heritage Month programs, and Forensics. She has also gone on the Civil Rights Tour and a Wisco mission trip to Texas.

Kylah has volunteered at her church by singing in the choirs and serving as an usher and Assistant Christian Education Director. She has also participated in hosting VBS and Bible studies and volunteered her time at the homeless shelter.

In her spare time, Kylah enjoys reading, cooking, watching college football and basketball, and hosting parties and Bible studies.

After graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Kylah hopes to attend the University of Austin or Prairie View A&M University in Texas. She plans to get a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, then pursue a degree in Law with the intention of becoming a judge and starting a non-profit mentorship program.

Kylah characterizes wisdom in Christian leadership as being in a constant state of humbling and surrendering yourself before God so that he is able to give you guidance about your character and insight into his nature, allowing you to help others.

Za’veir is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attends church at Atonement in Milwaukee, where he also went to grade school.

Za’veir was nominated for the Viking Christian Leader award for his leadership on the wrestling team and being a good example of putting in time and effort now in order to succeed later.

Currently a junior at Wisco, Za’veir has participated in football, wrestling, and the Civil Rights Tour.

Za’veir has volunteered at his church, Atonement, by doing Bible readings. He has also helped with Jr. Vikings Wrestling, officiated grade school wrestling matches, and encouraged grade schoolers at his grade school.

In his spare time, Za’veir enjoys listening to music, participating in club wrestling, watching collegiate wrestling, being with family, and kickin’ it with the fellas.

After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Za’veir plans to get an apprenticeship to become a carpenter or woodworker.

Za’veir characterizes wisdom in Christian leadership as applying your God-given knowledge to the experiences of others, helping them to overcome challenges in their lives and grow their faith.
