Viking Christian Leaders: Integrity

Congratulations to Lauren Wigley (‘25) and Ethan Groth (‘25) who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of February under “The Wisco Way Word": Integrity. We thank God for the way Lauren and Ethan have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leaders Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Lauren is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attends church at St. John’s Lutheran in Wauwatosa and went to grade school at Atonement Lutheran in Milwaukee.

Lauren was nominated for the Viking Christian Leader award for her leadership in the classroom and for standing up for what she knows is right, even if other people disagree with her.

Currently a senior at Wisco, Lauren has participated in volleyball, track & field, Freshman Choir, Student Council, Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, and VCLA, and she is the President of WWW. She has also helped with the Black History Month Program and attended the Civil Rights Tour.

Lauren has been involved at St. John’s Tosa by participating in the youth group and activities like camp, raking, and decorating the church for Christmas.

In her spare time, Lauren enjoys listening to music, driving, spending time with family and friends, playing and watching sports, traveling, going to concerts, and her work.

After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Lauren plans to attend college for communications and sports management.

Lauren characterizes integrity in Christian leadership as being humble, disciplined, and  approachable, all for the common goal of showing Christ’s love and serving others.

Ethan is from West Allis, Wisconsin. He attends church at Living Hope Lutheran and went to grade school at Good Shepherd’s Lutheran, both in West Allis.

Ethan was nominated for the Viking Christian Leader award for his leadership on the Cross Country Team and NHS, giving glory to God in all he does.

Currently a senior at Wisco, Ethan has participated in cross country, track & field, Math Track, NHS, WWW, Student Council, and VCLA. He also serves as the Treasurer of NHS and is going on the Wisco mission trip to Colorado this summer.

Ethan has volunteered at his church by helping out with events. He has also been involved in the community as a Ronald McDonald Hospitality Volunteer.

In his spare time, Ethan enjoys journaling, hanging out with friends and family, going on hikes, doing math problems, and playing Pokemon Go.

After graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Ethan plans to attend college for mathematics and education.

Ethan characterizes integrity in Christian leadership as always doing what is correct even when nobody is watching and giving all the glory back to God.
