  • Why is this property critical to the WLHS ministry?

    For many decades, WLHS has looked at these three acres as a critical opportunity for site expansion. It is the only land that is adjacent to the current 14.3 acre land-locked footprint. Not only does it enhance parking, it allows us to consider building expansion to meet the current and future needs of our ministry. The acquisition will allow the school to rethink the next steps of our Master Site Plan in vital ways. With this property being available for the first time in 40 years, God is opening a special door for WLHS. It is truly an answer to generations of prayers. As Jesus said, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7). He alone could open this door of opportunity. Praise God for this once-in-a-generation opportunity!
  • How will my donation be used by Wisconsin Lutheran High School?

    Your donation will help in two vital ways:
    1. Help pay for the purchase of three acres adjacent to our current campus; and
    2. Support the 930+ students that currently call Wisconsin Lutheran home in helping meet annual needs.
    Your support will help meet today and tomorrow’s ministry needs. WLHS wants to be sure that the focus on annual funding is not lost while raising vital funds for the property purchase. The Board approved a plan that the Growing Opportunities (GO) capital campaign would be structured to fund both the purchase of the property and its related expenses (projected to be $8.5 million) alongside the $1.5 million in annual funds needed, for a total campaign goal of $10 million. Every dollar donated will be split: 85% for the property purchase and 15% to meet annual needs.
  • What are the current needs of Wisconsin Lutheran High School?

    We are committed to providing a comprehensive, high-quality student experience as we share Jesus in everything from academics to co-curriculars. There is a gap of $4,171 per student—between tuition and voucher dollars received and the actual cost to educate—that we need to raise this year for the 930+ students. In order to meet the needs of our growing student body, WLHS is committed to helping our students grow closer to Jesus all while improving the quality and rigor of all of our offerings. We seek to increase student achievement and test scores, grow the amount of tuition assistance and scholarship dollars we can offer to students, and empower our students to become servant leaders. A percentage of your generous donation to GO helps achieve this.
  • What costs are associated with the acquisition of the three acres?

    The largest cost associated with the land acquisition is the cost of the land ($8.25 million), but there are significant additional costs: legal fees, architectural services, title fees, closing expenses, interest payments, etc.
  • What does the high school plan to do with the additional land?

    This property offers the opportunity for expansion in a variety of ways. The goal is to redevelop the school’s Master Site Plan—not just add three acres—in order to make the best use of our entire property allowing us to serve as many students as possible.The overall goals of the Master Site Plan for the whole campus are to:
    • Enhance safety and security;
    • Improve academic and group learning spaces;
    • Improve student life (cafeteria and kitchen); and
    • Expand athletic facilities (court space, weight room, etc.).
    This land acquisition will help with many of these goals. It will allow for the possibility of future campus expansion (e.g. field house, parking, additional educational space, etc.) in ways that the old Master Site Plan could not address on the current site without great cost and/or many space limitations. For example, there are significant savings by not having to retrofit another expansion in the existing footprint as well as avoiding disruptions to teaching and learning during a building phase.
  • What will happen to the Pick ‘n Save located on the land which is being purchased?

    Pick ‘n Save has a long term lease for the grocery store located on the three acres WLHS is purchasing. This is a blessing to WLHS! Pick ‘n Save will continue to pay rent and provide a consistent revenue stream to WLHS, all while affording the high school time to determine next steps.
  • Is the Starbucks on the corner part of this land purchase?

    No. The Starbucks is located on a separate property.
  • Why is the goal to raise $3.5+ million by January 31, 2025?

    In order to move forward with the purchase of the 3 acres, WLHS must put down a sizable down payment of $3.5+ million by January 31, 2025. In order to secure financing and for the voters of the WLHS conference to officially approve the purchase, we must know that WLHS has the cash necessary by the end of January.
  • What is the total cost of the Growing Opportunities campaign?

    In order to purchase the land and support the school with the Growing Opportunities capital campaign, WLHS has set a goal of $10 million. The cost of the 3 acres is $8.5 million, but we have expanded our goal to meet the growing needs of our school and ensure that we have the needed funds to support our current students.
