Tamara Leyrer Takes New Position
We wish to share the bittersweet news with you that at the end of June 2024, Mrs. Tamara (Tammy) Leyrer will leave her post as the International Admissions Director at Wisconsin Lutheran High School.
For the past seven years, Mrs. Leyrer has served the WLHS community in this vital role. During that time, she has tremendously helped grow the program’s enrollment and diversity of remarkable students from around the world. Mrs. Leyrer has also enhanced the quality of the program’s support to our international students with her critical leadership of our flagship “American Mentor to New International Student Program,” among many other notable achievements.
Mrs. Leyrer and her husband Rev. Pete Leyrer will move across the state where Rev. Leyrer's new role as the pastor of a Lutheran church in Western Wisconsin has just begun. In the meantime, we are delighted that Mrs. Leyrer will be able to transition into a mission advancement role with Kingdom Workers, an acclaimed charitable organization connected with our Lutheran church and school system.
Personal Message from Mrs. Leyrer:
I am thankful for all the years that I've been able to assist International students and their families to come to our high school to study. It has been a wonderful journey and I treasure all the friendships and people that I have met. I will still be connected to Wisconsin Lutheran High School through my new role in an affiliated organization of our church body called Kingdom Workers, which is a non-profit organization that directs people and projects to meet physical and spiritual needs in many communities of the world. Please feel free to stay in touch in the future and let me know how you are doing!
As Mrs. Leyrer prepares to say farewell, we also want to preview that with eager anticipation, we will be welcoming Mr. Nathan (Nate) King to WLHS to fill the role as the new International Admissions Director. Mr. King will arrive at WLHS with nearly a decade of experience as the International Program Director at an area Lutheran high school in Wisconsin, so we have full expectation that the quality care our families and partners received from Mrs. Leyrer will continue after her departure. Mr. King will officially begin at WLHS on July 1.
