WLHS Chefs Create a Sizzling Success

On March 19, student chefs in ProStart 2 attended the prestigious Wisconsin ProStart Culinary Competition at the Madison Area Technical College kitchens. Chefs Serenity Conway ('26), Morgan Conte ('25), Bella Casey ('25), and Josiah Rice ('25) created a mouth-watering menu, competing against 85 participants from 13 schools across the state. Events focused on both food preparation and restaurant management—all for a chance to qualify for the national competition in Baltimore, Maryland.

 
Each team had just 60 minutes to prepare their dishes under the watchful eyes of professional judges, who evaluated everything from knife skills and technique to communication, teamwork, and sanitation. Congratulations to Serenity, Morgan, Bella, and Josiah for earning the Best in Beef award—a well-deserved honor for their creativity, precision, and culinary excellence.
