Soccer Tops Out-of-State Foe at Woodside

The Viking soccer team won its second consecutive match with a 4-3 victory over Marian Catholic (IL). The game was played as part of the Baraboo Invitational at the Woodside Sports Complex in Wisconsin Dells.

Zach Adams opened the scoring, finding the net off of an assist from Giarley Gonzalez. Marian would score the next three goals and look poised to pull away. But Noah Oertel's goal before halftime narrowed the margin to 3-2. Luke Rodgers tied the game in the second half with an unassisted goal and Gonzalez connected on the clincher (with an assist from Daniel Fasasi).

The win puts the team's record at 3-2-1. The Vikings play Reedsburg on the second day of the invitational.
