The boys track and field team opened the season at Tuesday's Franklin Invitational. The Vikings won three events en route to a second place finish overall.
Isaiah Hopf won two of the team's three events. His winning effort in the long jump - 23 feet, 1.75 inches - ranks second best in school history, and his triple jump distance of 47-2.5 established a new school record, besting Sid Blake's mark of 45-3.75, which had stood since 1994.
The other event winner was the 4x800 relay team (Michael Miller, Joey Merrill, Luke Wegner, Nathan Weber). Full results are available here. The boys go to the Wauwatosa East Triangular at Hart Park on Thursday, May 6.
