The girls basketball team paused from the routine of shooting hoops to bring a little joy into the community. The team visited 3K preschoolers from our conference school at Christ Lutheran Church in Pewaukee to make Christmas ornaments with them. While it started out as a service project, both the teens and the 3-year-olds felt a cheerful connection. "We do projects like this for team building, but the little kids looked up to us and were so excited to see us," said senior varsity basketball player Kenly Frey. "It was lots of fun making ornaments with the kids. They were so sad to see us go, but it was heartwarming. We knew we had made a memorable difference in this small moment," said sophomore varsity basketball player Ronna Kelly.
