Our policy remains that students who are not involved in any after school activity must leave the building by 3:15 p.m.
After school, a number of our students choose to go to Starbucks and Pick ’n Save to hangout, especially now that the weather has changed. We discourage this. Students who are not customers should refrain from going to these stores. Our request of parents:
Arrange to have your student who is not involved in an after school activity to be picked up before 3:15 p.m. Waiting after school for a later game is prohibited.
If that is not possible, make contact with one of our assistant principals and request that a seat in a supervised area be reserved where the student can wait until transportation arrives.
Have an honest conversation about what your student is doing after school and whether he or she is involved in an activity. Hanging out at Starbucks or Pick ’n Save for a lengthy period of time, especially if the student is not a customer, is not appropriate, nor is wandering the school building. If a student does not have a ride right after school, he or she should secure permission from an assistant principal to wait quietly in a designated area.
