For the first time in WLHS history, the theatre program participated in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Speech and Dramatic Arts Association (WISDAA) Theatre Festival for one-act plays. After their October 26 performance, the WLHS one-act, 100 Things I Never Said to You by Adam Szymkowicz, has advanced from district to sectionals. Our thanks to WLHS alum Abby Bloomquist ('18) who has done incredible work directing the one-act play and fall play. Congratulations to the following cast and crew members:
Cast Kiah Schuessler ('25) Fred Ramsey Jr. ('25) Gabriel Rose ('27) Jenesis Wesley ('25) Elina Hofer ('25)
Tech Crew Elza Hofer ('25) Micah Broekema ('27)
Sectionals will be held on November 9, in Kenosha. After sectionals, the state competition will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
If you're sports minded, WISDAA is the equivalent of WIAA (Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletics Association) for forensics, debate, film, and theater in Wisconsin. WISDAA is the oldest high school speech organization in the United States, organized at UW-Madison in 1895!
