Hispanic Heritage Assembly Inspires

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Culture Month (September 15-October 15), the student body participated in the second annual Hispanic Heritage morning assembly program. Prof. Micah Hernandez ('01) opened the program with a devotion encouraging everyone to celebrate our differences while remembering the most important thing, that we are all one in Christ.
The program included monologues from our Hispanic students about family traditions and community support, and some musical selections were sung. Students wore traditional clothing while performing dances from Jalisco and Veracruz, Mexico. A mariachi band played music from a variety of countries and students enjoyed participating with them. Many thanks to students, parents, and volunteers who made this program possible and so well received.
