Mindfulness Lessons in Christian Health & Wellness

Counselors at WLHS teach valuable lessons to freshman in Christian Health & Wellness classes, focusing on how students can effectively manage stress and anxiety. These lessons use scripture and delve into the psychology of how individuals process life events, providing students with practical alternatives for navigating both the blessings and challenges that God places in their lives. A key component of the curriculum is mindfulness, a skill designed to help students cultivate self-awareness and resiliency.
By equipping students with these tools, the lessons aim to prepare them for productive, Christ-centered lives in a diverse world, empowering them to face life's ups and downs with confidence and faith.

Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

The WLHS SWP along with all programs, services, tools, and resources can be found on the Student Services Resource Board (login here). An overview of the ACP will be presented at parent information nights throughout the year. If you have any questions, reach out to your child's school counselor.
