2024 WELS Regional Band Fest
WELS Regional Band Fest gathers the top musicians from WELS Lutheran High Schools in our region, for a weekend of mutually-edifying performance with their peers. To be selected is a distinct honor. Wisco is sending 17 students this year's regional band fest held at Great Plains Lutheran High School, in Watertown, South Dakota on March 15-17. The theme this year is From Sea to Shining Sea. Our very own band director and fine arts coordinator, Mr. Quinten Petersen, has been selected as the percussion clinician, along with head clinician Dr. Terry Beckler professor of percussion, bands and music education at Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D.
WLHS student musicians participating in the event include: Julia Neuman ('24) oboe, Eviana Uttech('24) oboe, Nathaniel Crowder ('24) bassoon, Emily Wendorf ('24) Bb clarinet, Eva Kuehn ('24) Bb clarinet, Cheyenne McGillis ('24) bass clarinet, Atticus Delwiche ('26) alto saxophone, James Faust ('24) trumpet, Annalise Kuehn ('26) trumpet, Malikhai Mundt ('24) french horn, Isabelle Hatzung ('25) french horn, Thomas Doerr ('25) trombone, Isaiah Harris ('25) trombone, Madison Grass ('24) tuba, Kaden Archer ('26) percussion, Thomas Moldenhauer ('26) percussion, and Annabelle Nault ('24) percussion.
A culminating Festival Concert will be performed on Sunday, March 17, at 2:00 p.m. (CST). The concert will also be livestreamed. Click here for more information.
