Jim Johnson

Class of 1970

Jim Johnson (’70) began his lifelong relationship with WLHS as a student. During his high school years, Jim was a member of the Student Council, served as Student Body President, and earned All-Conference honors in both football and wrestling. After high school, Jim married Debbie (’71), and they were blessed with daughters Kelly (’97) and Jamie (’99). After a successful career in sales, Jim took on the challenge of a brand new television ministry that featured his high school classmate, Rev. Mark Jeske (’70). At Time of Grace, Jim served as President and successfully launched the weekly program in markets across the country. Jim served as a board member at WLHS, and upon leaving Time of Grace, Jim moved into the role of Chief Development Officer at WLHS.
Jim spent his final working years sharing the stories of WLHS students with supporters and helping to grow the mission of Christ-centered education. In his retirement, Jim coordinates area Bible studies that bring people together to grow and learn in their walk with Jesus. Jim continues to serve on various Christian non-profit boards and supports WLHS through his prayers and financial support. Additionally, he has served on the annual golf outing committee, and along with his wife, as co-host for the 2024 Be Still Dinner Auction. It is evident through his everyday life that Jim believes in the value of Christian education.
