The Junior Vikings Athletic Programs exist to aid young athletes in developing their age appropriate physical, emotional, and intellectual athletic abilities in a Christian environment.
The Junior Vikings Athletic (JVA) Program will offer an outstanding learning experience for young athletes. In a safe and fun environment, the JVA Program will help to build the confidence and skills necessary for young athletes to continue to grow and develop.
The JVA Programs draw direction from the leadership of Wisconsin Lutheran High School. The JVA Director will guide philosophies, programming, and direction for all offerings.
Coach staff selection, training, and development will be overseen by the JVA Director. Background checks, first aid and concussion training, along with development in their sport specific area, will also be overseen by the JVA Director.

About: Wisconsin Lutheran High School boys basketball program would like to invite boys entering grades 3-8 to tryout for the Jr. Vikings boys basketball team. Jr. Vikings basketball is a Christ-centered program aimed at helping boys who are interested in attending WLHS and playing high school basketball. Because Jr. Vikings basketball is a program that has to make "cuts," please do not register unless your son is strongly interested in attending WLHS and is prepared to make a full commitment for the season.
Cost: Base cost of $200, further fee levels will vary
Practices: At Wisconsin Lutheran High School and area WELS Lutheran elementary schools (TBA). Teams also practice Monday and Thursday nights from the end of October through the beginning of March.

All players must be pre-registered by Thursday, August 15. No walk-ups allowed.
Jr. Vikings boys basketball is a Wisconsin Lutheran HS feeder program, not an AAU or Club basketball team. Please consider only registering your son if he is planning on attending WLHS. Boys trying out for Jr. Vikings boys basketball should not try out for other feeder programs.
Please note: Players should arrive at Wisconsin Lutheran High School no earlier than 30 minutes before the designated tryout time. Enter the school only through door 14 off the parking lot. A coach will be inside the door to check each player in. Parents may come into door 14 to help their son get signed in but parents are not allowed in the gym area during tryouts. Players will exit the school after the tryout has ended through door 14 where parents should be waiting to pick them up. After tryouts please give the coaching staff at least a week to contact parents back via email in regards to the status of each player. Players should not bring their own basketball to the tryout, basketballs will be provided for them.
Jr. Vikings boys basketball has two competitive levels per grade depending on the number of players that try out. Our Blue level team plays at the highest level of competition and our White level team plays at the competition level that best fits the team’s talent. Players trying out should be ready to accept an invitation to play for either team. Coach Walz, with the help of the coaching staff, will determine the level that best fits each individual to help him in developing his own basketball skills.
