A Blanket Impact
Students on a Viking Christian Leader Academy (VCLA) Impact team volunteered their time to make tie blankets for the Ronald McDonald House of Wauwatosa. The service project, initiated by VCLA member Lauren Van Landeghem ('26), used Thrivent grants to purchase the materials, and then blanket-making directions were taught by Lauren.
More than twenty VCLA members were involved in the creation of 26 blankets that will be given to children and families at the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House provides a home-like facility for families with a child receiving necessary medical treatment at a nearby medical facility, such as Children's Wisconsin hospital.
