Viking Christian Leaders: Love

Congratulations to Dameon Highshaw ('26) and Maddy Jaeger ('25) who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of August under “The Wisco Way Word": Love. We thank God for the way Dameon and Maddy have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leaders Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Dameon is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and he is a member at Atonement Lutheran, where he also attended grade school.
 
Currently a junior at Wisco, Dameon has participated in track & field, Student Council, WWW, Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy, and Hope Squad. He has also gone on the Civil Rights Tour and on a mission trip to Texas.

Dameon has participated at his church by leading Bible studies with the children.
 
In his spare time, Dameon enjoys running, hanging out with friends and family, playing sports, and learning about God.
 
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Dameon is planning to attend college, where he hopes to major in Law and minor in Spanish.
 
Dameon characterizes love in Christian leadership as not only showing your love to others, but also showing the love of God in everything you do.


Maddy is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended St. Jacobi Lutheran School in Greenfield and is a member at Grace Lutheran Church Downtown.
 
Currently a senior at Wisco, Maddy has participated in Volleyball, WWW, VCLA, and the Wednesday Morning Praise group. She has also served as an American mentor to an international student and gone on mission trips to Texas and Florida.

Maddy has volunteered at Camp Phillip as a Junior Counselor.
 
In her spare time, Maddy loves hanging out with family and friends, traveling, and playing volleyball.
 
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Maddy plans to attend Martin Luther College for Elementary Education and Secondary English.
 
Maddy characterizes love in Christian leadership as showing as much love and compassion to others, making sure everyone feels included and appreciated every single day.
