For the 2024-25 school year, we welcome 40 new international students to the WLHS family, coming from the following countries: Brazil, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan, Spain, Germany, South Korea, and Malawi.
New international students at WLHS experience a week of orientation to prepare them for success in their new school environment. This includes training sessions about many aspects of the school and dorm (or homestay) life, as well as pairing with an American mentor student in their first year for peer support and integration into a new school culture. The students also enjoy getting to see local sites including the annual Wisconsin State Fair and a Milwaukee city highlights tour.
This year many parents and family members accompanied the new international students to Milwaukee, and WLHS held a Family Welcome Program for these special visitors. The event included a school tour, various sessions to learn about academic and residential life, and a city tour of Milwaukee including a boat cruise for a unique view of the city.
We wish all 67 of our international students a blessed school year. We give thanks to God that you are part of our school family!
