WELS Calls Update

11/22/2023

The following is an update on the calls that were received and extended at WLHS:

Mr. Christopher Barsch accepted the call to serve the WLHS Conference as a curriculum coordinator.
Pastor Heath Butler returned his call to serve as an associate pastor to Bethany Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson, Wis.

Mr. Michael Fetcenko declined the call to teach engineering courses and direct Project Lead the Way.
Mr. Ryan Wiechmann ('92) declined the call to serve as principal.
Mr. Jason Zweifel accepted the call to teach biology and coach wrestling.

On November 15, the WLHS Board of Directors extended calls to:

Mr. David Gartner to serve as principal. Mr. Gartner is the current principal at West Lutheran High School in Plymouth, MN.
Mr. Joel Plocher to teach engineering courses and direct Project Lead the Way. Mr. Plocher currently teaches at Holy Trinity Lutheran School in Des Moines, WA.
Ms. Elizabeth Schwartz to serve as dorm supervisor. Ms. Schwartz currently serves with Friends Network in China.

Mrs. Dawn Strand is stepping down from her position as our English teacher at semester. Plans for her replacement are in process.

The following WLHS teachers have received calls:

Rev. Dr. Phil Huebner received a call to serve as pastor at Grace Lutheran Church in Waukesha, Wis.
Mr. Mark Moldenhauer received a call to teach social studies and coach at St. Croix Lutheran Academy in West Saint Paul, Min.
Ms. Tanya Tranberg received a call to teach Spanish and coach at Arizona Lutheran Academy in Phoenix, Arizona.
