The Vikings had another successful weekend at the WIAA State Track and Field Tournament in LaCrosse on June 3-4. Thanks to those who made the trip west to support the team. Congrats to all the athletes on earning the opportunity to compete at the meet. We had several award-winning performances over the course of the two days.
Jaiah Hopf defended her title in the triple, winning for the 3rd time in three opportunities with a performance (40-8.75) that ranks 2nd in the all-time Wisconsin rankings.
Travis Beckler won three individual state championships, with victories in the wheelchair 100, 400, and 800 races. Travis also won the 100 in his freshman year.
Jaiah and Travis racked up an additional medal each, with Jaiah finishing 3rd in the Long Jump, and Travis Beckler finishing 4th in the wheelchair shot put.
Josiah Rice earned a 3rd place medal in the Triple Jump.
Daniel Fasasi earned a 3rd place medal in the 400 dash.
In addition, Travis earned a State Runner-up finish, the first wheelchair state trophy for Wisco (and the fifth for the track program since we joined the WIAA in 2000).
