Wisco Track and Field State Recap
The Vikings had another successful weekend at the WIAA State Track and Field Tournament in LaCrosse on June 3-4. Thanks to those who made the trip west to support the team. Congrats to all the athletes on earning the opportunity to compete at the meet. We had several award-winning performances over the course of the two days.
- Jaiah Hopf defended her title in the triple, winning for the 3rd time in three opportunities with a performance (40-8.75) that ranks 2nd in the all-time Wisconsin rankings.
- Travis Beckler won three individual state championships, with victories in the wheelchair 100, 400, and 800 races. Travis also won the 100 in his freshman year.
- Jaiah and Travis racked up an additional medal each, with Jaiah finishing 3rd in the Long Jump, and Travis Beckler finishing 4th in the wheelchair shot put.
- Josiah Rice earned a 3rd place medal in the Triple Jump.
- Daniel Fasasi earned a 3rd place medal in the 400 dash.
In addition, Travis earned a State Runner-up finish, the first wheelchair state trophy for Wisco (and the fifth for the track program since we joined the WIAA in 2000).
