Roger and Mimi Festerling
Mimi - Class of 1967
Roger and Mimi (’67) dedicated their lives and passions to Wisconsin Lutheran High School. Together, they served at WLHS for a total of 49 years. Roger and Mimi led numerous activities, most notably Student Council. Under their leadership, over 6,600 units of blood were donated through the Blood Drive, they oversaw set-up for dances, and ran the Kid’s Carnival. In honor of Mimi’s dad, Roger and Mimi started the annual Veterans Day service, which continues today. Throughout their time at WLHS, both Roger and Mimi served students, parents, and colleagues with kindness and the love of Jesus. Both with servant hearts, they felt compelled to create a student service project, Our Hands for His Service, which still exists today. Roger and Mimi were blessed with six children, all of whom attended WLHS: Mike (’91), Ryan (’93), Jason (’96), Kevin (’97), Lisa (’02), and Darren (’07). They are also proud grandparents of 18, many of whom have attended or plan to attend WLHS. After retirement, Roger and Mimi continued to support WLHS as substitute teachers, regular event attendees, donors, and cheerleaders in the community for the mission and work of WLHS. The Festerling legacy lives on through the Festerling Family endowed scholarship, which is awarded annually to a deserving student.
