Big Second Half Pushes Vikings to 7-0

The Wisco basketball team improved to 7-0 on the season with an 85-60 win over New Berlin Eisenhower at WLC on Friday night. A strong second half turned a one-point halftime advantage into a comfortable 25-point win.

After trailing 39-38 at the break, the Lions briefly pulled ahead after halftime, 43-41. But Prentice Young's three-point play ignited a 20-3 run that put the Vikings up by 15, and they led by double digits the rest of the way.

Jonah Rindfleisch put up his second straight double-double (and third of the season) with a career-high 16 rebound to go along with 18 points; he also blocked a team-high three shots. Young had seven points and three assists during the decisive run, part of a 19-point, eight-rebound, six-assist effort for the sophomore. Kon Knueppel was perfect in six field goal attempts en route to a season-high 15 points; he also added nine rebounds and three assists. And Jordan Glenn scored eight points, grabbed nine rebounds, handed out three assists, and took two charges.

Wisco once again dominated the glass, nearly doubling up the Lions in rebounding at 57-29. They held the Lions to 39% shooting and forced 20 turnovers. More stats are available here.

The Vikings have a bit of a layoff over the Christmas holiday. Their next game is at Franklin on December 30.
