Coach Walz and Senior Knueppel Receive Wisconsin AP Awards
Congratulations to Coach Ryan Walz ('92), who was named State Coach of the Year and to Kon Knueppel ('24), who was named State Player of the Year by the Wisconsin Associated Press! Click here to read the AP article.
Walz has guided the Vikings to a 314-96 record and three state championships in 16 seasons. The Vikings also won Division 2 in 2009 and 2014. Knueppel averaged 25.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game as a senior and helped Wisconsin Lutheran cap a 30-0 season with the last win over Pewaukee for the state title. The 2023-24 basketball team as a whole displayed Christian servant leadership. Trophies are effective symbols of success; we are even more grateful, however, for the way our 2024 champs witnessed their faith along the way.
